Common questions
- Is the market data real time?
- No. Market data is approximately 15 minutes delayed and labeled with its freshness. Brokerage connections provide Account Data, not market data. Delayed option snapshots are available only where listed. They include no Greeks and use indicative marks, not executable prices.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Plus is month-to-month through Stripe. Cancel from your dashboard, and paid access continues through the billing period you already paid for. Your account then moves to Free.
- What happens to my journal if I downgrade?
- Paid access continues through the period you already paid for. Then your account moves to Free. You keep one constrained MCP connection, manually authored or imported journal entries, rule overrides, skill settings, and the Strategy Scorecard. Slatemark disconnects the brokerage connection and deletes broker-derived data, including reconciled activity, auto-created journal rows, and sync state.
- Do I need a brokerage connection?
- No. Free includes the dashboard trade journal, Strategy Scorecard, framework rules, and one active AI-client connection to delayed market data and public research. Plus adds a read-only brokerage connection with current Account Data and periodic booked-activity reconciliation.
- How is my brokerage data protected?
- The brokerage connection credential is encrypted at rest and scoped to your user. The connection is read-only. Slatemark cannot place trades, transfer funds, or modify your account.
- Who owns my data?
- You do. Journal entries, your account profile, rule overrides, and brokerage connection credentials are scoped per user and encrypted at rest with a key unique to this environment. Slatemark does not sell your data, train models on it, or use it for anything beyond serving you. An AI model sees your positions and journal only through the client you connect, at your direction, and only while you authorize it; beyond that, your data is shared only with the processors that run the service, listed in the Privacy Policy.

- Do I need API keys for data sources?
- No keys are needed to start. Free includes pooled public-data sources such as FRED, EIA, SEC EDGAR, CFTC, and Treasury within the shared fair-use budget. Plus adds optional FINRA API key access. Premium bring-your-own-key vendors are not part of the current public plans.
- Why is Plus paid?
- Free covers the core loop with one active AI-client connection, 30 requests a minute for bursts, and the first 2,500 successful tool calls in each rolling 30-day period.
